Senior/Lead Database Administrators
(Full-Time / Part-Time)
Location: Sri Lanka (Remote)
We are expanding our Managed Services and Support team and are looking for experienced Database Administrators (DBAs) to join us. The selected candidates will be responsible for managing mission-critical customer databases, ensuring performance, security, and high availability.
Key Responsibilities
- New database creation, configuration, and setup
- Database user and role management
- Tablespace and storage management
- Database cloning for testing and development environments
- Performing regular health checks and optimization
- Oracle database patching (security & feature updates)
- Patch schedule planning (semi-annual) with dependency and compatibility checks
- RMAN backup configuration, maintenance, and monitoring
- Disaster recovery planning, testing, and validation
- Performance monitoring and tuning (SQL, indexing, memory usage)
- Data recovery assistance (point-in-time recovery, restore operations)
- Proactive monitoring to minimize downtime
- Investigation, resolution, and root cause analysis of database issues
- Liaising with Oracle Support for escalations
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database (latest versions preferred)
- Professional certifications such as OCP, OCA, or Oracle Database Certified Specialist are highly desirable
- Proven track record in database performance tuning, optimization, and disaster recovery
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
